If you are among the 90% of the hearing-impaired population whose hearing loss can be helped by amplification, your audiologist may recommend that you be fitted with hearing instruments.

To find the hearing instruments that are right for you, the audiologist will test how the hearing instruments are performing in your ears. Several hearing instruments or several different settings on one instrument may be evaluated to see which one is best for your hearing loss. In addition, the audiologist will ask you questions about your lifestyle and what you expect from your new hearing instruments. You will also be shown how to care for your hearing instruments and, if necessary, adjust them to your different listening environments. Hearing instruments are provided with a 35-day evaluation period. This gives you time to get used to the instruments and allows the hearing healthcare professional to fine-tune the instruments if necessary.
